Morenci Area Schools is seeking an outstanding individual to fill our open varsity volleyball coaching position. Interested candidates must understand their responsibility to be exemplary role models, (on and off the job) great teachers, (of sport-specific and general life skills), and great communicators, (with players, parents, and the community at large).

 

PAY RATE
Per Bargaining Agreement

 

SUMMARY
To help each participating student achieve a high level of skill, an understanding of the strategies of the sport, an appreciation for the values of discipline, sportsmanship, and teamwork, and an increased level of self-esteem.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent 
• Knowledgeable about the rules and fundamental techniques required of the sport
• Ability to obtain current CPR/AED/First Aid certification
• Ability to work effectively with sport coaching staff, parents, and school staff
• Experience working with high school-aged students preferred 
• Previous successful coaching experience

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Comply with MHSAA rules/off-season policies as well as department/district policies
• Maintain consistent communication Athletic Director
• Plan and execute well-organized practices
• Develop character, commitment, and confidence in student-athletes
• Maintain effective pre-season and in-season conditioning programs
• Model exemplary behavior toward players, parents, opponents, and officials
• Manage and work collaboratively with JV and MS coaches, communicating, vision and goals of the program 
• Participate in recruitment, hiring, and evaluation of other program coaches 
• Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director as applicable

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise assistant coaches.
• Supervise any volunteers.
• Supervise student-athletes in that sport.
• Supervise any students or persons associated with that sport.
